Entertainment

Katherine has been honored to collaborate with creative teams around the world. While “lights, camera, action” can offer a fun rush, she most enjoys the in-depth collaboration with directors, producers, fellow choreographers, lighting designers, financial stakeholders, and more to shape and execute on a shared vision. Whether strategizing camera angles or working with musical composers for the perfect crescendo in a piece, Katherine is dedicated to a memorable experience for the audience and a collaborative experience for the creative team.

  • Montreal, Canada

After success with their first skating show, “Crystal”, Cirque du Soleil set out to highlight figure skating through a hip-hop / rock lens. As the only female on the choreographic team for “Axel”, Katherine guided the movement aesthetic and style for the show’s lead protagonist.

  • In 2021 Katherine and partner, Ben Agosto, choreographed a fight scene on ice featured in the major motion film, Argylle, (directed by Mathew Vaugn) in collaboration with stunt legend, Brad Allan, and stunt choreographer, Guillermo Grispo. Casting, hiring, and directing skaters from around the world - Katherine and Ben worked to combine the grit of Hollywood stunts with the flow and grace of figure skating. The entire scene was filmed by skating videographer, Jordan Cowan of On Ice Perspectives, and the full team of producers, second unit directors, stunt performers, lighting directors, actors, costume designers, technicians, editors, and more made the project a true dream come true

  • Toronto, Canada

In a “dancing with the stars” format, CBC’s Battle of the Blades turns hockey players into figure skaters. Within a short 3-week training period and 6-week performance schedule, Katherine and her partner, Ben Agosto, packaged, branded, and choreographed their team to a 2nd place finish in Season 6.

  • Wolfsburg, Germany

Assisting on choreography of 40+ pieces to be performed within a 6-week holiday show schedule, Katherine contributed movement to pieces ranging in style from contemporary and classical to hip hop and 60’s rock.

  • Chicago, USA

Placing dancers on rooftops around the city of Chicago for an entire month, Katherine’s choreography and collaboration with performance artist, Josie Davis, intrigued commuters on their way to work, news outlets, and performance studies conferences around the US.

Competition

For as long as she can remember, Katherine has made up skating programs. When she was young, she choreographed her own programs for local ice shows. Now, she choreographs programs for athletes on the largest of figure skating stages.

With an athlete-centered approach, she aims to deliver work that highlights a skater’s strengths while inspiring a newly developed sense of musicality, style, and confidence.
